The Town Commissioners of Pittsville during the regular monthly town meeting held on May 22, 2023 introduced the following ordinance:

“Ordinance # 2023-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF PITTSVILLE TO ADOPT THE MUNICIPAL OPERATING BUDGET COMMENCING ON JULY 1, 2023 AND ENDING ON JUNE 30, 2024 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024″

Copies of Ordinance # 2023-01 are available for review at the Town Hall during normal business hours AND also on the Town’s web page.

FY 24 BUDGET ORDINANCE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

There is scheduled a public hearing on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 commencing at 7:00 pm at Town Hall to hear and receive public input regarding Ordinance # 2023-01, the “FY 24 Budget Ordinance” for the Town of Pittsville’s FY 24.

The regular monthly town meeting to consider the adoption of Ordinance # 2023-01 will follow immediately after the conclusion of the FY 24 Budget Ordinance public hearing.

[ VIEW ORDINANCE # 2023-01 ] – [ VIEW BUDGET 2023-2024 ]

VIEW AGENDA & MEETING PACKET

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, (weather permitting), and continuing through 6 p.m. that evening, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will be replacing a cross street pipe on the south end of Pitts Avenue at MD 346 (Old Ocean City Road).

This work will necessitate the closure of the intersection of MD 346 and Pitts Avenue for the duration of the project, and will be performed under a single lane closure with flagging operations.

Your patience is appreciated as the State Highway Administration makes the necessary repairs!

It is interesting to note that the average quarterly “residential” billing for water usage in the Town of Pittsville is about $112.50. This is definitely one of the best “buys” around especially when you consider that the average cost to a consumer is $1.18 per gallon of bottled water.

Using that formula and fact, and if you divided the town’s cost of water service to the regular cost of bottled water, a consumer would only receive less than 100 gallons of water per quarter, or simply 30-35 gallons of water per month. No one can live or survive on 1 gallon of water per day!

The actual cost to the consumer/resident in the Town of Pittsville to receive water service is actually $.01 per gallon of usage. That seems like a pretty good bargain, don’t you think?
