The Town’s Drinking Water System has experienced higher than normal iron levels that have led to the discolorization of the water. The water operators have reestablished the treatment process. However, discolored water still remains in the distribution system. The water operators are working to flush the distribution system to reduce the remaining discolorization. Although, unpleasant, the iron levels are a secondary maximum contaminant level set by EPA and IS safe to drink and to use.
The Town of Pittsville appreciates your patience and understanding as we continue to work to resolve the issue. The Town of Pittsville also apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused our water consumer customers.
ALL BUSINESS ITEMS MUST BE SCHEDULED ON THE AGENDA THE WEDNESDAY PRIOR TO THE TOWN MEETING IN ORDER TO BE HEARD.
