DESCRIPTION:NOTICE TO RESIDENTS \nTOWN OF PITTSVILLE\nFIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING \nPlease be advised that the Town of Pittsville will be flushing all Fire Hydrants from August 27th thru August 31st. \nWe flush water lines through the use of hydrants\, which is an important preventive maintenance activity.  Although it may appear to waste water\, the process is part of a routine maintenance program necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system allowing us to continue to deliver the highest quality water possible to our customers. \nAs a result of the line flushing process\, residents in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience temporary discoloration of their water.  This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water.  If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your neighborhood\, clear the pipes in your home by running your water faucets in your home a few minutes.  We recommend using the tub or outside faucet. \nIf you require additional information\, please contact the Town Office/Water Department. \nThank you.

DESCRIPTION:The Town of Pittsville Water Treatment Plant will be handing out sample bottles for Lead and Copper Testing.  There is a limited amount of bottles available so if you are interested or have any questions\, please either visit the Town Office at 7505 Gumboro Road or call 410-835-8872 and ask for Brandon Wilkins.  Directions for collecting samples will be provided when participants collect the bottle.
