FY 25 MUNICIPAL OPERATING BUDGET & FEE SCHEDULE
At their monthly meeting held on 24 Jun 24, the Commissioners of the Town of Pittsville officially adopted the Town’s FY 25 Municipal Operating Budget along with the Fee Schedule commencing 1 Jul 24. Here are a few very important items regarding the FY 25 Budget:
• Real estate property taxes are increased from $.2875 per $100 of assessed value to $.30 per $100 of assessed value
• Corporate/Personal property taxes are increased from $.90 per $100 of assessed value to $1.00 per $100 of assessed value
• Utility Property Taxes are increased from $.90 per $100 of assessed value to $1.00 per $100 of assessed value
• Rental Housing License Fee is increased from $100 per rental unit to $150 per rental unit
• A new annual Storm Water Management Fee is established in the amount of $30 per recorded real estate property within the incorporated limits of the Town
• All water and sewer user rates are increased by 3% across the board in all categories
• All front foot assessments have been reconciled into one category. Water front foot for all categories is now $.68 per front foot with sewer front foot increased from $.40 to $.50 per front foot
The above utility fee charges will commence with the billing of 1 Oct 24.

Please be advised that at the regular Town Meeting held on May 20, 2024 the Town Commissioners introduced the following ordinances for consideration for adoption:
Ordinance # 2024-02 “An Ordinance to Amend the Town’s Zoning Map”
Ordinance # 2024-03 “An Ordinance to Adopt the Town’s FY 25 Municipal Operating Budget & Establish A Fee Schedule”
Both ordinances will be considered for adoption at the next scheduled Town Meeting to be held on June 24, 2024 at 7:00 pm in Town Hall.
Copies of the ordinances are available for public review during normal business hours at Town Hall.

FY 25 Municipal Operating Budget Public Hearing
The Town Commissioners of Pittsville will conduct a public hearing to receive citizen input regarding Ordinance # 2024-03, “An Ordinance to Adopt the Town’s FY 25 Municipal Operating Budget & Establish A Fee Schedule” commencing at 6:30 pm on June 24, 2024 at Town Hall.
Copies of the proposed FY 25 Budget and Fee Schedule will be available for public review after June 10, 2024 at Town Hall during normal business hours.

Proposed Real Property Tax Rate Increase
For the taxable year beginning July 1, 2024, the Town of Pittsville proposes to increase the real property tax rates from $.2875 per $100 of assessment to $.30 per $100 of assessment. A public hearing on the proposed real property tax rate increase will be held on June 17, 2024 commencing at 6 pm in the Pittsville Town Hall. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged. Persons with questions regarding the public hearing may call the Town Hall at 410-835-8872 for further information.

CDBG FY25 Grant Application & Special Meeting
June 5, 2024
There is scheduled a public hearing and special meeting to hear and receive public input regarding the Town of Pittsville’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to seek funding for the Town’s “Water Treatment Plant Phase IV Upgrade Project” on Wednesday, June 5, commencing at 6:00 pm in the Pittsville Town Hall.
Immediately following the public hearing, the Town Commissioners will hold a special meeting to consider the adoption of Resolution # 2024-02 required to be submitted along with the CDBG grant application.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
