The following items were on the agenda for the above meeting:

  • Treasurer’s Report
    • General Operating Balance: $53,918.18
    • Utility Operating Balance: $135,444.14
    • MLGIP Fund: $2,443,323.03
  • Town Manager’s Report
    • FY 24 Municipal Operating Budget & FY 24 Fee Schedule to be approved
    • PEDC will meet on June 21 at 5:30 pm in Town Hall
    • Planning/Zoning Commission to meet on July 6 at 6:00 pm in Town Hall
    • MML Convention to begin next week in Ocean City
    • TMCR grant reimbursement of $14,640.36 received & new TMCR grant application for $55,000 submitted
  • Town Engineer’s Report
    • Phase IV of WTP Upgrade still in review by MDE
    • WWTP sludge bed improvements being worked on
    • Utility mapping infrastructure project on going
    • New WWTP pre-engineering study being reviewed by USDA before further action can be taken
    • Storm water management study soon to begin
    • Recommendation to award the 2023 Street Improvement Program work to Mike Houck Construction in the amount of $149,498.80. Town Commissioners approved the bid from Mike Houck Construction
  • Town Flag proposal tabled.
  • Ordinance # 2023-01 the FY 24 Municipal Operating Budget was adopted
  • Resolution # 2023-05 the FY 24 Fee Schedule was adopted

  • Town Manager’s Report
    • FY 24 Municipal Operating Budget was explained.
    • Requested next Town Meeting & Budget Public Hearing be held on June 20, 2023, due to federal holiday on June 19, 2023 (JUNETEENTH DAY).
    • PEDC will meet on May 31 at 5:30 pm in Town Hall. Guest Speaker will be Dave Ryan of SWED.
    • Planning/Zoning Commission to meet on June 1 at 6:00 pm in Town Hall.
  • Town Engineer’s Report
    • Phase IV of WTP MDE reviewing comments received and responded to.

Public Notice: Introduction of FY24 Budget Ordinance & Scheduled Public Hearing

The Town Commissioners of Pittsville during the regular monthly town meeting held on May 22, 2023 introduced the following ordinance:

“Ordinance # 2023-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF PITTSVILLE TO ADOPT THE MUNICIPAL OPERATING BUDGET COMMENCING ON JULY 1, 2023 AND ENDING ON JUNE 30, 2024 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024″

Copies of Ordinance # 2023-01 are available for review at the Town Hall during normal business hours AND also on the Town’s web page.

FY 24 BUDGET ORDINANCE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

There is scheduled a public hearing on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 commencing at 7:00 pm at Town Hall to hear and receive public input regarding Ordinance # 2023-01, the “FY 24 Budget Ordinance” for the Town of Pittsville’s FY 24.

The regular monthly town meeting to consider the adoption of Ordinance # 2023-01 will follow immediately after the conclusion of the FY 24 Budget Ordinance public hearing.
