As we enter into a new fiscal year, I wanted to inform our citizens of three (3) major actions by the Town Commissioners of Pittsville that have occurred!
1) The Town’s Municipal Operating Budget for FY 27, beginning on 1 Jul 26 and ending on 30 Jun 27 has been adopted with a real estate property tax rate of $.32 per $100 of assessed value. Last year’s rate was $.30 per $100 of assessed value. The FY 27 budget will be posted on the Town’s web site AND copies are available at the Town Hall.
2) The Town Manager/Circuit Rider grant that assists in funding the Town Manager’s position has been successfully submitted to the State requesting $60,000.00. This is a one (1) year grant that the Town applies for every year!
3) A Community Development Block Grant/CDBG application in the amount of $800,000 has been successfully submitted for consideration to undertake a major storm water management project to help alleviate flooding issues in the most affected areas of the Town.
