“Special Notice/Water Usage”
As most of our citizen residents are aware, the Town of Pittsville is in the midst of a major upgrade to our Water Treatment Plant/WTP for the past few months. Work is progressing well and the contractor is preparing to begin a critical phase of the project that will require “temporary” shut downs of the plant so they can accomplish the work they need to do for us in order to complete the project.
Our water plant operators and town staff have noticed for the past few weeks a considerable increase in the use of water from our people. Unfortunately, if this continues, the contractor will experience difficulties in completing the work, not to mention the strain it puts on the water plant. Water usage is actually TWICE what it should be.
To help alleviate the pressure being put on the plant’s production the Town Commissioners are strongly encouraging our water users to curtail and refrain from over use of the water system while we are in this very “hot” spell of weather. For example, washing of cars, watering of lawns, filling of swimming pools, needs to be done in moderation. This will go a long way in assisting our contractor and the Town’s water plant’s operations.
